John Deere expands line of compact wheel loaders

Jul 02, 2023Jul 02, 2023

John Deere is bringing its L-Series models to its performance tier for these new upgrades.

John Deere has announced it is shifting its L-Series compact loaders to P-Tier for the 244, 324, and 344 compact wheel loader models.

The new P-Tier models will carry over all the features found in the L-Series, now at John Deere's "Performance Tiering" level. This will introduce new features like standard ride control in base models and optional factory installed features.

"As we continue to make the shift from past generation machines to our current generation of Performance Tiering models, we aim to keep the same features our customers know and trust on the L-Series models, with the added benefits of new productivity enhancements only available on the P-Tier machines," says Luke Gribble, solutions marketing manager for John Deere.

Ride control now comes standard on all P-Tier compact wheel loaders, cushioning boom movements during transport. This is designed for operators moving materials over long distances or on hard surfaces. This feature can be manually activated, or set to automatically engage and disengage at predetermined speeds.

P-Tier loaders also feature Articulation Plus, enabling rear-wheel steering to increase full-turn tipping load and improve maneuverability. This steering combines 30° of standard articulation with an additional 10° of rear-wheel steering.

These P-Tier compact wheel loader models have an upgradable attachment assist controls package with creep control and throttle lock for increased ease of use when using attachments. Operators can run their machines at higher RPMs and lower ground speed with fewer manual inputs. A pause and resume function is designed to make reactivating the function easier than before.

An auto-reversing fan is also available, intended for users on dusty worksites, which can be turned on and off from inside the cab. The operator can control the fan's time intervals for automated function while operating.

The P-Tier compact wheel loader models are available to order now. Before upgrades, the P-Tier 244 starts at $132,074, the 324 starts at $148,327, and the 344 starts at $202,235.
