GRAND RAPIDS, MI – Anne Monterusso left her job as an elementary school teacher to work at a bank. She doesn’t regret it.

Monterusso, 32, loved her job. The fourth and fifth graders she taught at Rockford Public Schools were fun and engaging. Administrators in the district were supportive. Teaching felt rewarding, a field where she could make an impact on her community and help develop the next generation of critical thinkers.
